Mysteries of Himalayas - Ladakh With Pangong Lake (9 Days / 8 Nights)

This tour covers the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir. Ladakh is a land abounding in awesome physical features, set in an enormous and spectacular environment. Bounded by two of the world's mightiest mountain ranges, the Karakoram in the north and the Great Himalaya in the south, it is traversed by two other parallel chains, the Ladakh Range and the Zanskar Range. In contrast to its stark landscape, the people of this region are warm and friendly. The tour covers the monasteries of Leh, driving through beautiful lands and crossing the Khardongla Pass (highest motorable pass in the world) and ending at the placid Pangong Lake.

Day 1: Delhi
Tuesday, April 2, 2024 - Wednesday, April 3, 2024

Traditional welcome on arrival at Delhi international airport and transfer to hotel.

Day 2: Delhi
Wednesday, April 3, 2024 - Thursday, April 4, 2024

After breakfast, guided tour of historic city of Delhi. The city where one can experience the influence of the many rulers who ruled this region, a city built and destroyed and re-built over seven times. The tour includes the magnificent Red Fort, the Jama Masjid, Asia's largest mosque, Humanyun Tomb, Birla Mandir, Qutab Minar, drive through India Gate, President-s House and Connaught Place. Evening, see Son-et-Lumerie at Red Fort (optional). Overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Delhi - Leh
Thursday, April 4, 2024 - Friday, April 5, 2024

Catch an early morning flight to Leh. On arrival at Leh airport, you will be met by our representative at the airport and escort you to hotel. Breakfast at hotel. Complete day for the acclimatisation, which is 3500 mtrs above sea level. In the evening short walk around Leh bazaar. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Leh
Friday, April 5, 2024 - Saturday, April 6, 2024

Full day excursion to the famous monasteries, it is interesting to visit early in the morning to enjoy the praying ceremony at Thiksey monastery. Continue drive to Hemis monastery, which is one of the most famous monastery of the Ladakh region. On the way back visit Shey Palace. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5: Leh - Alchi - Uletokpo
Saturday, April 6, 2024 - Sunday, April 7, 2024

Leave for Uletokpo camping which is one of the most beautiful camping in the Ladakh region on the way visit Spituk monastery that is just 5 kms from Leh town. Continue drive to Alchi monastery is the only monastery in the Ladakh on flat ground. By the lunchtime you will reach Uletokpo. Evening enjoy to sit on the bank of river coming down from the Ridzong side. Overnight at camp.

Day 6: Uletokpo - Lamayuru - Leh
Sunday, April 7, 2024 - Monday, April 8, 2024

Leave Uletokpo and continue drive to Lamayuru via Khaltsi. From here another 22 kms drive will take you to Lamayuru. The oldest and spectacularly set Lamayuru monastery founded in the 10th Century. Visit the monastery. In the late afternoon drive back to Leh, which will take about 4/5 hours drive, on the way back we stop at magnetic hill. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7: Leh - Khardongla Pass - Leh
Monday, April 8, 2024 - Tuesday, April 9, 2024

After breakfast full day excursion to Khardongla pass which is the highest motorable pass in the world 5600 mtrs and has been recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. At the top enjoy the nature beauty of snow capped mountain. In the evening back to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 8: Leh - Pangong Lake - Leh
Tuesday, April 9, 2024 - Wednesday, April 10, 2024

Leave early morning to Pangong Lake through Changla pass 5486 mtrs. While ascending Changla pass 5486 mtrs, enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of the villages below the pass. After crossing the pass halt for picnic lunch at Tsoltak, the summer pastureland of the yaks. Arrive Durbuk and from there a short drive takes you to the western shore of the lake. Enjoy the landscape in the backdrop of the Lake. This famous blue brackish Lake of Pangong is 5/6 kms wide and over 144 kms long with half of its running the other side of the Indo China Border-. One rarely feels so close to nature and environment and the scenery is unforgettable. In the late afternoon drive back to Leh. Overnight at hotel.

Day 9: Leh - Delhi
Wednesday, April 10, 2024 - Thursday, April 11, 2024

Transfer in time to the airport to connect flight to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi, transfer to the hotel for wash 'n' change and proceed to international airport for connecting flight to onward destination.
